Chronic Aneurysmal Aortic Dissection

چکیده
E ndovascular grafting is being increasingly used to treat aortic aneurysms and dissections. However, patients with aneurysmal dissections involving both the thoracic and abdominal aorta are particularly challenging to treat because of the natural communications at the level of the visceral arteries, particularly in the presence of a defined connective tissue disease. Reports of hybrid procedures involving visceral revascularization and subsequent endografting of the whole descending and abdominal aorta are appearing in the literature.1-3

Sequential Hybrid Repair of Aorta and Bilateral Common Iliac Arteries Secondary to Chronic Aortic Dissection with Extensive Aneurysmal Degeneration in a Marfan Patient
Marfan syndrome is a connective tissue disorder associated with aortic dissection, aneurysmal degeneration and rupture. These cardiovascular complications represent the main cause of mortality, therefore repair is indicated. We present a 35-year-old woman who experienced acute onset of chest pain. Her imaging revealed a chronic DeBakey type I dissection with aortic root dilation and descending ...
متن کاملModified ‘candy-plug’ technique for chronic type B aortic dissection with aneurysmal dilatation: a case report
BACKGROUND The original 'candy-plug' technique has been reported to be beneficial for the treatment of residual perfused false lumen in patients with aortic dissection. However, this technique is also associated with several problems, such as narrowing of the true lumen and damage to the flap or vessel wall. Therefore, we modified the procedure to overcome these problems. Here we report a case ...
متن کاملOpen repair in chronic type B dissection with connective tissue disorders.
Aneurysms associated with inherited connective tissue disorders (CTD) constitute a specific but important issue in thoracoabdominal aortic aneurysm (TAAA) surgery. In this respect, Marfan syndrome and Ehlers-Danlos syndrome (EDS) type IV represent the most significant disorders causing aneurysmal dilatation of the thoracic aorta. Marfan syndrome typically causes aortic root dilatation, aortic v...
متن کاملSuccessful Repair of Type a Aortic Dissection in a Term Pregnancy: A Case Report
Stanford type A acute aortic dissection (AAD) is a very rare complication, with potentially lethal consequences in pregnancy. In fact, pregnancy has been regularly associated with the possibility of aortic. dissection in almost half of young women. Herein, we present the case of a 38-year-old woman in her 37th week of pregnancy. The patient’s medical history was indicative of G4L2Ab1(4 gestaiti...
متن کاملMRI in Chronic Aortic Dissection: A Systematic Review and Future Directions
The acute event of thoracic aortic dissection carries with it high mortality and morbidity. Despite optimal initial surgical or medical management strategies, the risk of further complications in the long-term, including aneurysmal dilatation and false lumen (FL) expansion, are not insignificant. Adequate follow-up of such conditions requires dedicated imaging where relevant prognostic indicato...
